Exprimental | Electro | Kraut | Psychedelia
DJ & Producer
June or July is the solo project of Jose Jünemann (aka Zigarettenpause, Mota, former Familea Miranda). In this new adventure, the Chilean drummer and producer based in Barcelona, seeks to transmit an experimental character, navigating between early electronics (without the use of computers) and psychedelia.
The project begins its discography with an EP of three pieces recorded live and direct called “Live at Rocketas (2013), then it follows ” Drones, Impros & Scapes vol. 1 ” which, as its title says, is a series of eight musical pieces between drones, improvisations and soundscapes recorded between December and January of 2013 and 2014.
In this reference, each song was recorded in a single shot to later add one that another small adjustment and not lose the spontaneity of the original idea. Recently released “Vol. 2 “that unlike its predecessor is richer in sound elements including real batteries, sampling and voices wandering between ambient, drone, kraut, folktronica and noise. Soon it will be released “Volume 3” that will continue with the same principle and will close the trilogy to then start a new stage that includes new elements and guest musicians among other surprises.
Sophism (Arrhythmia 2017) proposes a sound experience along a journey of twenty minutes that is divided into three movements (concert grosso) composed of sequences and real batteries planted and molded into a vast sonorous landscape or drone makes fertile ground for the development of music . As roots opening their way through the darkness of the earth or stems and leaves following the light through the air and rain, the work develops on the structure of a sound landscape, generating a result sometimes chaotic and other times totally crystalline.
“… it’s a project with which to sit peacefully to take a drink looking through the closed window and not stop to dance on a terrace or wallow in the sand.”
Ojalá Estë Mi Bici”
“… works that mix sampling, drone and environmental exercises, always covered with a mysterious electronic mantle”
“… without giving authorization for any thing similar to a laptop to be sneaked in, this primitivist electronic proposal ventures us, very close to what has been heard live with the merger between Matías Aguayo and Mostro.”
